On the Road Webzine review for IV Deluxe Edition;
I remember that around 1998 it was the first time I heard of this Japanese progressive metal band when they released the debut album "Chaos-Pilgrimage".Unfortunately it was the only album of this band released in markets outside of Japan until today. This album came to Brazil at the time, when I had the opportunity to listen to their work and I remember liking it, but after years without hearing anything else from the band, I decide to look for some videos on Youtube and I end up finding a video of them playing a cover of the band Sanvoisen one of my favorite bands. I decided to get in touch with the band's bassist Makoto Unno and he was cool enough to send me this album and the latest one that will be the next one to be reviewed. As the title already shows this is Vigilante's 4th album, but it is a re-release of 2017 with 5 bonus tracks. As I mentioned above the sound of the band is a prog metal and we can hear influences from Queensryche, Eldritch, Sanvoisen, Crimson Glory, etc. The vocalist has a voice that sits between a Tate and Midnight and incredible as it sounds without much English accent to a Japanese singer. In fact everyone in the band plays very well, which was to be expected of a band of the style. I recommend this album for those who enjoy the bands quoted and who also look for Japanese bands of the style.
